Anchor Subaru "found the problem"...now what?

In reading comments left on the blog this morning, I noticed an entry from W. Moore in regards to the engine tear down findings done by Anchor Subaru on the Wilson's Forester:

"I heard from Terrence tonight. 01/31/12. Anchor Subaru found the problem . Something failed to cause valve stem and cylinder damage. They commented that it was not an oil lubrication problem, but some sort of failure. They also commented that the engine was very clean inside, no gunk or varnish, implying proper service by the Wilson's. Anchor Subaru will call Subaru America in the morning, as it was 6pm at tear down finish. Stay tuned........"

Now we wait to hear what Subaru of America is willing to do about the stranded Wilson family.

  1. I find a few things here interesting:

    A) Anchor Subaru is awaiting Subaru of America to make a decision. Is that because Anchor is refusing to take responsibility on a car they sold to the Wilson family 2 years ago and after they serviced it and performed recall work on the engine, the engine "failed"?

    B) How much longer is this going to take? Long enough for the Wilson family to have to start paying for that loaner car?

    C) If the engine was clean and showed no evidence of poor maintenance, are we being told that the Subaru engine failed because that sort of thing just happens? Poor quality in the original product? If it was serviced properly and just barely over the limited warranty.....what are we to conclude? These aren't tires we are talking about. Did Anchor Subaru sell the Wilson family a lemon? And now they want the parent company to clean up the mess?

    D) Remember how several employees from Anchor told both W. Moore and J. Wilson at the very start that the engine failed due to lack of lubrication? And then the story changed? I wonder what the truth is??
